Harvest Happenings Part 13: Future Farmers

Over the last three weeks, we've been focusing on all things harvest. From pests to irrigation to organic farming, Katie Zarrilli has explored a number of topics. For the final part of her series, we look into the future...which is in the hands of the younger generation.

Katie continues her harvest series now looking at how young people are preparing for their future in farming. The University of Maine at Presque Isle just recently introduced a program in which they can learn the latest and greatest sustainable farming practices.

Two Sabattus residents were arrested yesterday and charged with trafficking Heroin.

Katie continues now with her harvest series. Since Aroostook County farms got bigger and technology got better, we've seen fewer hand crews out working in the fields. But there are a few farms in the County that still do farming the old fashioned way. We caught up with one out in Perham.
