The 6th running of Houlton's Harvest Festival River Run starts in River Front Park and takes you along the Meduxnekeag River, through the park, up North Street, around historic Market Square, and across Gateway Arch before finishing up again in the park. Salmon Brook Historical Society & the Rotary Club of Washburn will be co-hosting a baked bean supper on September 16, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Washburn Trail Runners’ club house The proceeds will be benefitting several projects at the Historical Society. The menu will consist of beans, franks, cole slaw, potato salad, Willie’s rolls, and apple crisp all for a $7.00 minimum donation. Children under 12 can eat for a donation. Take outs are available. There will also be raffle tickets available for a queen size quilt - 1 for $1.00 of 6 for $5.00. The winner will be drawn that evening.

FREE -The day long class is open to all expectant mothers and their partners. The interactive class covers what to expect during the third trimester, labor and delivery, pain management and relaxation techniques along with newborn care and feeding. A tour of the birthing unit will also be provided as part of the class.
