September is National Recovery Month and In recognition of this very special month, Life By Design, AMHC, and the Micmac Service Unit are enthusiastic to partner in hosting a recovery event on September 30th. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the recovery process while raising awareness that people can and do recover. We are planning to hold a family friendly event that will include a short hike, picnic, art project and speakers from the recovery community!
Houlton residents can sign up for free smoke alarms! The American Red Cross, the Fire Department and community partners will follow up with the installation on Saturday, Sept. 30. Make an appointment or register to volunteer by going to SoundTheAlarm.org/Maine or calling 874-1192 x113. Smoke alarms save lives! Working smoke alarms reduce the risk of death in a home fire by half.
