EDGECOMB, Maine (WMTW) - Police say a unlicensed teenage driver was killed in car crash in Edgecomb.
According to police, 15-year-old Isabelle Manahan of Newcastle was driving the car Friday when it left the road and hit multiple trees.
Manahan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The three passengers, a 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds, were hospitalized with injuries that police say are not life-threatening.
All four were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Speed and inexperience are believed to be factors in the crash, according to authorities.
The events leading up to the crash, including how the unlicensed driver gained access to the car, are still being investigated.
