18 year old charged after police stop vehicle for driving erratically

On November 12th, around 8 p.m., Officer William Janakis responded to a report of erratic operation of a motor vehicle.

Officer Janakis made contact and stopped the vehicle on Bangor Road and made contact with the operator 18 year old Lindsay Gardner of Linneus. Officer Janakis suspected Ms. Gardner to be under the influence of intoxicants.

During the officer’s roadside investigation, Gardner became uncooperative both verbally and physically resulting in a physical altercation at the scene.

While at the Aroostook County Detention Facility, Gardner was being processed for multiple crimes when she struck Officer Janakis several times.

The officer was not injured in the assault.

Gardner has been charged with operating under the influence, disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest, obstructing government administration, assault on an officer and unlawful possession of drugs.
