Body found positively identified as Father Clement Thibodeau

The Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the body found on September 30th in Hancock County as that of Father Clement Thibodeau.

The manner of death was deemed not suspicious.

Father Clement Thibodeau, a resident of Caribou, had been missing since July 15th, until a man clearing trails near Upper Pistol Lake located his grey 2013 Chevrolet Equinox stuck on a remote unimproved road.

Game wardens responded to the location and soon found Thibodeau's body a short distance from his vehicle.

According to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Thibodeau was a priest at Notre Dame Church in Waterville from 1980 to 1987.
