Crews respond to early morning house fire in St. Leonard New Brunswick

ST. LEONARD, NB.- Several fire departments respond to a morning house fire in St. Leonard, New Brunswick.
According to Van Buren Fire Captain Pete Madore, a call came in around 7 am for crews to respond to a structure fire at 16 Mazerolle Street in St. Leonard. Madore says when fire crews arrived, there was a fire inside the two story home and smoke was coming out of the eve. No one was home at the time. But he says the second floor sustained significant fire and water damage including the attic area. He says the origin of the fire appears to be on the second floor behind a tv and is electrical in nature. The Canadian Fire Marshal's office is investigating. More than fifteen firefighters fought the blaze. Van Buren and the St. Anne de Madawaska fire departments provided mutual aid. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
