Emera Maine Outages Update Due to Winter Storm Stella

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) -- Emera Maine Electric System reports that favorable weather conditions are helping with Emera Maine's restoration effort today, now that winter storm Stella has moved away from Maine. The storm brought heavy winds to much of Emera's service territory, especially in coastal Hancock and Washington Counties, knocking down limbs, trees, and breaking poles in some cases. Power was interrupted as far north as Millinocket, east to Eastport and south to MDI and Cranberry Island. At this time Emera anticipates restoring most all customers power by the end of day today, although some customers in more remote locations may not be restored until Thursday.
