Fort Kent man killed in single vehicle accident early Sunday morning

FORT KENT, Me (WAGM) A Fort Kent man was killed in a single vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

According to Fort Kent police chief Tom Pelletier, 47-year-old Scott Boucher of Fort Kent failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a tree. He was deceased at the scene and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

Pelletier said black ice was a contributing factor.

The accident happened just before 7 in the morning on South Perley Brook Road near Little Black lake.

Fort Kent Police, Fire and Rescue responded along with the Maine State Police.

Pelletier says the investigation is ongoing.
