MADAWASKA, ME. (WAGM) -- The fourth time was the charm for the Madawaska School Department as the budget has passed. The budget validation referendum vote was held today with the polls closing at 8:00 p.m. According to the Superintendent of the Madawaska Schools, Gisèle Dionne, the decision came to 324 residents voting "yes" to 301 residents who voted "no". This was the fourth budge validation referendum vote held after several failed attempts. The budget process started back in July of 2016.
