Man arrested after driving over 100 mph on Route 1

On October 4th at approximately 1:00 a.m, Officer Douglas Bell was patrolling Route 1 when he encountered a motor vehicle doing over 100 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone.

Officer Bell pursued the vehicle for approximately 6 miles and eventually found the car abandoned in a field near the Hardison Road.

Through further investigation, the owner of the vehicle, 36 year old Wayne Neely of Fort Fairfield, was charged with the following: eluding a police officer, unsworn falsification, driving to endanger, criminal speed and failure to report an accident by quickest means.
