Man arrested after trying to steal prescription drugs from pharmacy

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick - The Edmundston Police Force is currently investigating an attempted robbery at a pharmacy on Hebert Boulevard in Edmundston on February 24th.

Police arrived at the scene at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a complaint that a masked man entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs. His request was refused and the man left.

Following an investigation by the Patrol Section of the Edmundston Police Force, a 37-year-old man was apprehended in Dégelis by the Sûreté du Québec and detained. The man was interrogated by investigators from the Edmundston Police Force and will face charges in Edmundston Provincial Court at a later date. Since he has not been formally charged yet, his identity can not be made public. The investigation is continuing.
