WELD, Me A Massachusetts man is dead after a one car crash occurred late Saturday night in Weld, Maine according to State Police. State Troopers were called about 11:30 pm to the crash on School Street in Weld. Richard Rogers of Pembroke, MA was driving a 2006 Honda Civic. Rogers was traveling north on Route 156 when he lost control of his car. According to the investigation, Rogers’ car went onto the dirt shoulder of the roadway and then went into a spin. The Honda crossed the center line and struck a large tree . Rogers died at the scene. The Honda sustained massive damage to the rear of the vehicle. Excessive speed and the possible presence of deer in or near the roadway are the likely cause of the crash.
