On January 24th, RCMP officers from the Federal Investigation Unit stopped a vehicle on the highway near Edmundston, New Brunswick.
RCMP members were assisted in the stop, and subsequent search of the vehicle, by officers from the Edmundston Police Department.
During the search of the vehicle, officers located and seized over eleven thousand pills of methamphetamine weighing approximately eleven pounds, and a small quantity of cocaine.
The methamphetamine pills were packaged for widespread distribution and were believed to have been destined to be sold in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
The methamphetamine pills were rectangular in shape and stamped with either the words "ICE" or "STAR".
As a result of this drug seizure, the three occupants of the vehicle, two men from Quebec, age 27 and 49 years, as well as a 25 year old man from New Brunswick, were arrested, and will face drug related charges.
The investigation into this matter is continuing, and further arrests and charges are possible.
