On August 9, 2017, the Maine State Police responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on US RT. 2 in Dyer Brook. Trooper Carman Lilley responded to the scene of the crash and learned that Michael Pelham of Oakfield was driving his 2007 Nissan 350Z sports car west bound at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Pelham lost control of his vehicle crossing the east bound lane becoming airborne and striking a utility pole. The vehicle began to roll over for approximately 75 yards were it came to rest in a pasture. Pelham was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. Pelham was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with injuries. Larry Hersey of Oakfield was a passenger in the vehicle and was wearing his seatbelt. Hersey was transported to HRH with non life threatening injuries. Pelham was charged with OUI and operating after suspension. The investigation is ongoing.
