Speed and alcohol cited as factors in Holden snowmobile crash

HOLDEN, Maine - A Holden man was injured over the weekend as a result of a snowmobile crash on Brewer Lake.

25 year old William Johnson of Holden was injured when he struck the shoreline of Brewer Lake at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Wardens and staff from Holden Police Department spent several hours at the early morning scene. The crash remains under investigation. Game wardens cited speed and alcohol as contributing factors to the incident.

Wardens were assisted by members of the Holden Police Department as well as Brewer, Holden and Orrington Fire and Rescue Units.

The Maine Warden Service reminds riders to never drink and ride, to be cautious to not overdrive your headlights and be conscious of hazards and other riders on the trails.
