Police say the crash in Bridgewater that caused a major traffic delay on Route 1 is now clear.
Troopers say that 53 year old Dallas Mojica had been driving northbound in a 2017 Freight-liner owned by Prime Inc. with an unloaded box trailer when she lost control on the ice-covered road.
According to police, high winds in the area had blown snow over the roadway and with the drop-in temperature, the road had become covered in ice.
The tractor trailer went into the southbound lane and struck the snowbank.
Police say that the tractor and trailer were both severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. The operator was only slightly injured and was not transported to any hospital.
Traffic on Route 1 was stopped intermittently for the next couple of hours until sand could be put down on the roadway.
Authorities say cars are now moving.
