At approximately 7:05 a.m. yesterday morning, a witness observed a northbound trailer truck coming around a corner at the Hodgdon and Cary Plantation town line on Route 1.
The trailer truck was towing an empty trailer designed to haul logs.
The witness observed the trailer skid off the road. It appeared as though the trailer truck snagged utility lines which resulted in four utility poles being broken.
Police say there was extensive property damage.
According to police, the trailer truck left the scene and hasn’t been found.
The trailer truck was described as being a dark colored, single cab (also known as a “day cab”).
The trailer truck may have damage on its trailer.
