Update: Second Suspect Charged, First Suspect Still on Run

Grand Falls, NB - The second suspect in connection with a kidnapping that occurred on October 5, 2015 has been charged in Grand Falls Provincial Court. Police located and arrested the suspect on October 8 in Dartmouth, N.S. A 28-year-old woman who was with the suspect at the time of the arrest was also arrested.

Parker Jacob Richards, a 37-year-old man from Nova Scotia, was charged on October 8 with using a firearm to kidnap the victim, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, uttering a death threat, injuring the victim's dog, extortion and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

Richards will remain in custody and is in the process of being transferred back to New Brunswick. The 28-year-old woman remains in custody.

Police continue to look for 43-year-old Gilbert Thériault, of Drummond Local Service District in connection with the incident. A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Thériault this morning. He is described as 5'6" tall and approximately 120 lbs. He has a tattoo of an eagle on his right bicep.

Anyone who recognizes Thériault is advised not to approach him and call 9-1-1.

The investigation is continuing.
