WASHBURN, Me (WAGM) - 63-year-old Ricky Castonguay of Washburn was alone, and traveling north on Hines Street in Washburn when he drifted off the right side of the roadway. Castonguay then steered to the left completely crossing the roadway and then traveled off the opposite side of the road and traveled up into the front yard of a nearby residence where the vehicle ran over a small tree, continued to drive into the ditch where it struck the embankment and again completely crossed the roadway where it then traveled down the shoulder of the road traveling south. Castonguay then turned to the right again completely crossing the roadway a third time, and traveling back into the same yard, then came back out onto the roadway where Castonguay then continued to drive his very damaged vehicle over a half of a mile to his own residence where he stopped and exited his vehicle. The crash was reported by the property owner who’s front yard was damaged. Tr. Patrick Pescitelli assisted with the investigation. Castonguay was transported by Crown Ambulance to the Aroostook Medical center where he was treated and released. Castonguay was charged for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, and for Leaving The Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
