Fort Fairfield high school inducts new hall of fame class

FORT FAIRFIELD, Me (WAGM) - Fort Fairfield High School's athletic Hall of Fame inducted six new members at a ceremony on Thursday night.

Patricia Adams - Class of 1974: She was a multi-sport athlete participating in basketball, field hockey, softball and golf. She was the first female golfer at the boys team.

Kirk Demerchant - Class of 1994: He was a 3 sport star athlete excelling in soccer, baseball and golf.

Amanda Hotham - Class of 2012: She participated in basketball, track & field, softball and volleyball. She was a 1,000 point scorer in basketball at UMPI.

Jon Nichols - Class of 1996: He was a multi-sport star athlete competing in basketball, baseball and soccer.

Dr. Stephen Nightingale - Class of 1973: He was a multi-sport star athlete competing in cross-country, track & field and basketball. He won the Mahaney award for Athlete of the Year and went on to run Division 1 track and cross country at West Point.

George Solomon - Class of 1967: He coached varsity baseball from 1992 to 1998 when his teams compiled a record of 79-32. His 1994 team won the State Class D Baseball Championship and his teams reached the Eastern Maine Finals three times in his baseball coaching tenure.
