Nordic Skiers compete in Caribou

Nordic Skiers finally hit the trails today for a meet.

The skiers have been practicing for almost three weeks and today they held the first competition of the season.
Caribou hosted a free style race this afternoon. First in the girls game Isabelle Jandreau of Madawaska picked up the victory. she ended in a time of 17:26, Izzy Jackson of Presque Isle was second 34 seconds back. Dolcie Tanguay of MSSM ended up third with Kirsten Main of CAHS and Ciara Richards of Caribou following.
Caribou won the team event with 31 points. Fort Kent was second other teams taking part were skiers from Ashland and Fort Fairfield, On the boys side, Max Bartley of Presque Isle picked up the victory. He finished in 15:35. a minute 25 ahead of Niko Naranja of Fort Kent. Caribou took the next three spots, Evan Desmond, Alec Cyr and Emerson Duplissie Cyr followed. Caribou took the team title with Fort Kent second, Others teams taking part were Madawaska, MSSM and Ashland. Teams will take part in an invitational race in Fort Kent over Christmas break.
