Over 100 youngsters compete in Viking Fun Run

CARIBOU Me (WAGM) - tt's a Labor Day Tradition starting with the annual Aroostook Savings and Loan Viking Fun Run and ending with the Caribou Labor Day 8K. First the youngsters were out.for the Kids races. Doing their stretches with members of the Caribou Cross Country teams.There are five different age groups and races of varying distances. This is the Pre K and Kindergarten quarter mile race one lap around the track. Annalise Griffeth and Tommy Flannery finished first.
In the First and Second Grade half mile race, Breanna Royer and Elias Gomez took home the first place trophies.
The Third and Fourth Grade half mile race winners were Maggie Bell and Gavin Letourneau.
The Fifth and Sixth graders ran a mile four times around the track. Teanna Ewings and Camden Pelletier finished first and in the Seventh and Eighth Grade mile races Annalise Jandreau and Cater Pelleiter picked up the victories. This race has been going on since the late 1970's and continues to be very popular with over 125 youngsters competing.
