The Regional Cheering Championships are set for Saturday in Bangor. Five county teams are taking part in the annual event. Mike Burnham of the Maine Principals Association says that everyone is excited for the annual event.

The squads have been working hard perfecting their routines.

Teams from the County tuned up last week at the Aroostook League Championships in Caribou. After Saturday's performance the top teams will advance to to the State Championships two weeks later.

Burnham:" The top six teams in each of the competitions will advance to the States in two weeks in Augusta."

Burnham says the Northern Regional event is a great value for spectators. Fans can stay all day and watch all three competitions

Burnham:" Here in Bangor one ticket is good for the entire day. For those cheering enthusiasts if they want to come early and stay and watch all three of those classes compete they are welcome to do so."

Here is the schedule:
9 am Class C north. Houlton will be competing

11:15 am Class D North South CAHS will loook to defend title. Fort Fairfield also competing

Class B North Prsque Isle and Caribou will be looking to advance to States.
