UMFK men's soccer team prepared for challenge of repeating

FORT KENT, Me (WAGM) - The University of Maine Fort Kent Men's soccer team heads into the National playoffs as the second seed. The Bengals know that all the other teams are looking to end the streak of Championship victories.

(Bill Ashby):"Winning any national tournament in any league is a hard thing to do. The USCAA is no exception to that. We have a tough bracket and it is going to be a tough tournament. We are going to have to play well for four games in a row to repeat again."

UMFK graduated key players from last years team. Ashby says the team tries to keep the philosophy next person up They try to pass the torch and keep the success moving.

Ashby:" We had a good base of seniors coming in and we keep a lot of people on our program. Everybody gets a lot of experience each year. It allows us to maintain the level of program. We had to retool a totally different looking team this year the way we play the style we play, but we have been able to be very successful again. "

The Bengals will begin defense of the national championship on Thursday.
