I live in washington county and there is a lack of entertainment here also. I think that the state and citys in northern, eastern and western maine should look into indoor recreaction centers. With things like small thrill rides, go carts, mini golf, tennis courts or anything else people could do inside year round. The lack of things to do does help contribute to drug use and crime. We also need to start area sports teams like softball, baseball, soccer, flag football, basketball, canoe racing ect. Anybody could join with diffrent levels for diffrent age groups. I think that would be affordable and attractive to many people but it would need to be orginized.

Although you are correct on the fact there allot to do in northern Maine if you are into the outdoors. But not everyone like that, people move in from other parts of the United States, and are used to the lifestyle there. Granted I love the outdoors, but on the other hand I experience living in a major city, and northern Maine is lacking in some ways. What about concerts, major movie theater which Presque Isle had but loss it. How can the city grow and not expand on the entertainment of the city. So my question is what is there to do if you are not into the outdoors things, and I know many feel that way, hence people saying there nothing to do. But you can’t always make everyone happy.

I agree Jon. I lived there for 5 years and thought the list of things to do was endless! I miss working at good ole Channel 8, and hope you are keeping up the solid tradition of the County.
