Maine is slated to receive nearly 100 million dollars in stimulus funding for construction and renovation of federal facilities including 39 million dollars for the border station and port of entry in Van Buren.
According to Senator Susan Collins modernizing and improving Maine's ports of entry will better accommodate the needs of local residents, legitimate trade and travel, and the officers working at the ports.
The remainder of the money will fund work at border stations in Calais and Madawaska, and courthouses in Portland and Bangor. (WAGM-TV)
