Hodgdon Plane Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a small plane crash in Southern Aroostook over the weekend.

At 7:20 Saturday Night Trooper Brian Harris responded to a airplane crash in a hayfield off Route 1 in Hodgdon.

49 year old Wesley Tidd of Houlton was flying his

2003 Team Mini Max single seat airplane over Hodgdon and developed engine difficulties and he attempted to land the plane in the large field. Upon landing, Tidd's airplane flipped over, landing on its roof in the field. Tidd was able to get out of the plane but had sustained back and neck injuries and was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital by Houlton Ambulance for treatment.

The airplane sustained minimal damage to the cockpit in the crash and was towed from the scene by Westerdahl's Service. (WAGM-TV)
