The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host DLS speaker Sarah Brown Wessling on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center. Wessling was selected as the National Teacher of the Year in 2010 and will be giving her presentation titled This I Believe: Letting Go So That Others May Learn. Roosevelt Day at the Museum

The Maysville Museum, 165 Caribou Road, Presque Isle, Maine
In commemoration of Teddy Roosevelt's 159th birthday, come see Presque Isle Historical Society's fascinating Teddy Roosevelt artifacts! These artifacts were handed down through Maine Guide Wilmot Dow's family and ultimately donated to the Society. Artifacts include Roosevelt's long barrel Colt revolver, his birch bark moose call, and a velvet and buffalo horn mirror that hung over the mantle at his Dakota ranch. There will also be a book signing by Andrew Vietze, author of "Becoming Teddy Roosevelt". Tickets $10.00 at the door. While there, stroll through the museum's other exhibits!
