The 2017 Himie Towle Memorial Winter Frolic will be held on Saturday, March 4th at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. Registration is from 10 - 11:30 a.m., Youth Frolicking starts at 12 noon. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youth or $20 for families. All registrations include lunch.
The mass-start event is Freestyle Cross-Country, (classic track is also available). Snowshoe enthusiasts are welcome to come and use the trails. There will be 1st and 2nd place awards in 22 ski categories. Aroostook Cup points will be awarded to all ski entries 14 years and older, 10k race or 5k tour. There will be lots of Merchandise and Frolic Freebees for participants.

Group Snowmobile Trail Ride

Downeast Lakes Land Trust and the Grand Lake Snowmobile Club are partnering to celebrate the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend with a group snowmobile trail ride. On Saturday, February 4th, bring your snow sleds and a lot of warm clothing to Grand Lake Stream. Participants can park their vehicles and trailers in the Grand Lake Stream Dam Parking Lot and then ride over to the Grand Lake Snowmobile Clubhouse via “Marion’s Trail.” The ride will get started at 10 am, and if you would like to arrive a little earlier, there will be hot drinks at the clubhouse. We will have one long ride option and one short ride option, visiting different parts of the Downeast Lakes Community Forest. The 41st Annual Henry Anderson Memorial Ski Dag will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28th on the Caribou Ski Trails at the Caribou Country Club. Registration is at 9 a.m. Races will start at 10 a.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $25 for families, and free to participants 18 and under.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded for all Aroostook Cup Divisions for each race. 1st place ribbons will be awarded for each division for the Pursuit, (combined race times). Race divisions are ages 13 & under; 14-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; and 80 & older.

The 2016 Himie Towle Memorial Winter Frolic will be held on Saturday, March 5th at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. Registration is from 10 - 11:30 a.m., Youth Frolicking starts at 12 noon. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youth or $20 for families. All registrations include lunch.
The mass-start event is Freestyle Cross-Country, (classic track is also available). Snowshoe enthusiasts are welcome to come and use the trails. There will be 1st and 2nd place awards in 22 ski categories. Aroostook Cup points will be awarded to all ski entries 14 years and older, 10k race or 5k tour. There will be lots of Merchandise and Frolic Freebees for participants. All Aroostook Cup contenders will by vying for an Amish Rocking Chair.

Spend a winter's day at the park. We have everything you need to have fun with the family, outside in Aroostook County’s winter wonderland.
Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating (conditions permitting), sliding hill, snowmobile "tote-rides", guided nature interpretive walks, bonfires, hot food, Smokey the Bear comes out of hibernation and the Maine Warden Service will join in the days fun.
Have no equipment? Don't know how to use it? Don't worry; we have all of that, including expert instruction! All you need is to wear warm winter clothing and want to have fun!!!
