UMPI helping students understand financial aid

Applying to college can be stressful. And what can be even worse waiting is figuring out how to pay for it. Over the weekend, News Source 8's Taylor Lumpkin headed over to the University of Maine at Presque Isle to see how they're helping high school seniors tackle financial aid, and the myths that come with it.

Grocer of the Year

Out of the entire state of Maine, local grocery store owner Mark Kelley was announced as the 2017 grocer of the year. NewsSource 8's Taylor Lumpkin took a trip over to Country Farms Market in Washburn to see how Kelley runs his grocery store and why it stands out above the rest.

International Quit Soda Day

Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services hosted the first annual International Quit Soda on Friday. The idea came from Cary and Pines Pediatrician Doctor Kevin Strong. The goal of the event was to get kids to take a pledge to stop drinking soda for one month.
