Planet Head Day raises money for County cancer patients

The 12th annual Planet Head Day took place over the weekend. Last year organizers raised an impressive $13,000, all going to programs that benefit County cancer patients. This year, they were hoping to exceed that dollar amount. The event went global for the first time this year. NewsSource 8's Shawn Cunningham reports.

Prepping for Relay

Tomorrow's the big day - we've been telling you about Relay for Life for the last two weeks and the event will be happening tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. and running until 11 p.m. Organizers were out on the track preparing this afternoon. Splash pad to open this weekend on limited basis

The splash pad at Riverside Park will open to the public tomorrow. Chris Beaulieu, director of Recreation and Parks, says it will be run on a limited basis as they continue to work to bring the system online.

Consolidation comes to an end for some County schools

School consolidation, once mandated by the state, is coming to an end for some County schools. Kathy McCarty met with school officials in RSU 50 and newly-formed RSU 89 about why residents say it just doesn't work for them.

Recent weather helps local farmers

Farmers in the County are extremely thankful for today's weather. They say it's just what this year's recently planted potato crop needs.

National Guard gives back to local communities

Local National Guard members have been busy in the County, taking part in annual training sessions. Kathy McCarty talked with the commander of the 185th Engineering Company and has more on what they've been up to.
