July 2020 2nd Warmest at Caribou

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good morning and happy first day of August! Morning clouds and fog will burn off later this morning into the afternoon. Temperatures will be back in the mid to upper 70′s with some 80′s out there as well.

Tonight will be mostly clear, patchy fog in spots and dipping back down into the 50′s.

Sunday will turn more humid and muggy with dew-points rising back into the 60′s as a warm front approaches and winds change out of the south. Air temperature will be back into the lower to mid 80′s. Clouds increase Sunday afternoon/evening with a chance for a few showers in the evening. More showers can be expected on Monday with isolated thunderstorms.

Some bookkeeping stats for July at Caribou. It was the 2nd warmest July on record dating back to 1939 with a mean average temperature of 69.9 degrees Fahrenheit behind July of 2018 at 70.9 degrees Fahrenheit.

Caribou received 3.04 inches of rain during the month of July, 24th driest on record, the 30-average is 4.23 inches of rain for July. Max temp for July at Caribou was 90 degrees Fahrenheit on July 10th, the minimum temperature at Caribou was 45 on July 16th.
