Versant Power prepares for tropical storm
Customers are reminded to be prepared for the potential of power outages
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - With a tropical storm bearing down on the Northeast, the Versant Power team is preparing for any impacts across northern and eastern Maine. “With rain and high winds in the forecast, motorists are asked to be particularly mindful of any trees and tree branches on roadways, pooling of water on the road, and the potential for downed power lines,” said Kevin Gendreau, Versant Power storm manager. “Drivers also are urged to slow down or move over and change lanes, when possible, if approaching utility crews working on roadways, to ensure everyone’s safety.”Versant Power will have extra crews on standby Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, and is positioning crews to address any downed trees and tree branches throughout the service territory. The public is reminded to stay away from downed lines and report them to local authorities and Versant Power. NEVER touch a downed power line or a tree in contact with a downed power line, and never drive over one.
