Presque Isle Hotel Opens Space for In-Person Meetings
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Virtual meetings have become the norm for many companies during the pandemic. But as News Source 8′s Cam Smith finds, a place in Presque Isle is opening up an option for those eager to get back to in-person meetings.
“People are just tired of zoom meetings.”
This hotel in Presque Isle is now allowing the public to turn their virtual conference calls into in-person meetings that adhere to safety guidelines.
“For a meeting set up like this one, we can seat around 12 people and guarantee you are six feet apart in any direction.”
Jan Lucas is the Sales Director at the Hampton Inn hotel. She says there are proper protocols in place to make sure you are safe during your meeting.
“We make sure every single, you know curtain, everything is sanitized. We shampoo the carpets, everything in this room gets wiped. It gets cleaned and then wiped with the Lysol wipes or we spray Lysol spray everywhere. Definitely hard surfaces.”
Upon entering the room, the door is sealed with a checklist of all surfaces and items in the room that were cleaned. Crews are equipped with full personal protective equipment (PPE) during the cleaning process.
“Gowns and goggles, masks, gloves and they clean and sanitize the room. If we can, we would rather leave the room for a day or two before they come in and clean. Unfortunately, this week it’s booked out every single day. But we know that it will be intensely cleaned and sanitized.”
Hand Sanitizer and wipes are also available in the room. Guests are required to wear a mask until they enter the meeting room and can socially distance from others. The room can be booked for $23/hour and to make reservations, contact the Hampton Inn by Hilton at 207-760-9292. Cam Smith, News Source 8.
