PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Many are using the pandemic as a time to do upgrades to their home or make healthy choices in their lifestyles. One healthy choice some are looking at is to quit smoking.
So ACAP is looking to help them with a four week long smoking cessation program.
A community Educator with ACAP says smoking can make contracting Covid 19 even more dangerous as it already exposes you to other illnesses.
“We already know that smoking causes lung disease, COPD, Bronchitis, all of these things that are going to not make it easy if you get COVID-19. It’s very important that you quit smoking now.”
Sipe says during the pandemic the to program has changed from group meetings to in person meetings with masks on, socially distanced. To sign up for the program you can contact Elaine Sipe at 207-227-2348.
