PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - A roundtable discussion was held Monday in Houlton to discuss ACAP’s “Whole Family Approach Program”

This program is one that focuses on the entire family and getting them the support they need. Including areas like food security, access to housing, education, and employment. Both Senator Susan Collins and Executive Director and CEO of ACAP, Jason Parent say the program is extremely beneficial for those in need of assistance.

“One thing I love about the program that ACAP has put together is they have broken through the silos of programs at both the state and federal level, in order to focus on whatever that family needs to be successful and self- sufficient,” Sen. Collins said.

“The purpose of today was really to bring together the individuals in Washington D.C. and Augusta, and even at the New England Regional level, across a number of our programs to hear from those individuals impacted by the work that they do and the work that we in turn do. So really it was an opportunity to connect,” Parent said.

Tuesday night on News Source 8, we will hear from those families in attendance and how this program has helped them to get where they are today.
