Home and Barn Now Total Loss After Fire in Island Falls

ISLAND FALLS, Maine (WAGM) - A fire in Island Falls today.

The fire occurred on Sherman Street.

Forest Rangers and crews from Oakfield, Sherman and Stacyville were called in to assist.

The fire damaged an Amish home and destroyed the barn which was filled with hay.

According to Chief Jeremy York of the Island Falls Fire Department, crews are still on scene clearing hot spots.

He says both the house and barn are a total loss.

There were no injuries, everyone was able to get out safely including animals. The cause of the fire is still undetermined. We will have more information as it becomes available.
