Chris Hudson looking forward to pro career
Hodgdon , Maine (WAGM) -
Chris Hudson is in Luxembourg on the next leg of his basketball journey. The Hodgdon High School star signed a pro contract with the Kordall Steelers and will make his pro debut later this month.
IHudson:" it’s my first professional contract for a year right now. Luxembourg in Europe it is in the second division with the Kordall Steelers. I am really excited to get out there and put some hard work in. They are trying to move up to first division and that is what they are bringing me in for.
You had a great career at Bentley and three great years at Hodgdon. This is just a progression of your goal.
Hudson:"It’s a game based on hard work and anybody can be good at. I have taken the opportunity I have been given and put the time in. I have been fortunate to stay healthy and be in the position to succeed."
COVID must have messed with your plans.
Hudson:"There are very few opportunities. I have one friend going to Bulgaria and another to China and to Ireland. Opportunities have been few and far between and for me to get one this year is very exciting."
Did you think all along that a player from Hodgdon, Maine would be able to play professionally?
Hudson:" It wasn’t on my mind. I am humbled about it. When you think of it I am just a kid from Maine. I think it is a testimony of hard work and determination."
If Chris Hudson can turn pro and go to Europe and play. Will you consider yourself a role model for other kids to try and follow?
Hudson:" I hope so. I am just trying to be the best me I can be. I represent my community and my family and all the places I have been. I associate myself with their name."
