Presque Isle’s Boys and Girls Club Held Parade of Life Today
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Presque Isle’s Boys and Girls Club held a parade that stretched from Connor to Monticello.
The Boys and Girls Club is holding their 2nd Annual Illuminate Life Celebrations this month and the car parade was organized as a safer alternative to holding their festivities indoors this year.
“A couple months ago, my unit director Corey Tilley and I decided to partner with a couple of the local agencies and kind of do a month-long celebration. We created trees of life and posted them around The County to celebrate the lives of those that we’ve lost to suicide and mental illness and celebrate the lives of those that are on their road to recovery. And then we thought of the idea of doing a parade of life to kind of take it down through The County and celebrate life with as many people as we possibly could.”
Green says the parade was the best way to go through all of the communities and still bring people together to celebrate life. For more details on future events held by The Presque Isle’s Boys and Girls Club you can visit their Facebook page or give them a call at (207)-554-5049.
