PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) -As temperatures outside begin to fall…so, too, will your bank balance... if you pay for your own heat.

That’s why Daigle Oil says people need to budget, so they aren’t hit with a huge bill all at once.

“Of course in the winter time is when you take in the most product and having more larger payments to keep up with the fuel. Biggest thing you can do to kind of curb that is spread your payments out over the course of a year as opposed to doing it all during the winter season when you’re using fuel. We offer budget plans for that reason customers be able to take their entire heating system, entire heating payments over the course of a year instead of paying them over the course of 3 to 4 months you can spread it over 10 or 11 months.”

The company says you should have annual tune-ups on your heating system to ensure it operates efficiently. He adds that you should also have your fuel delivered before your tank gets below one-quarter full.
