AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine (WAGM) -

Versant Power crews are investigating an outage affecting more than 11,300 customers in northern Aroostook County.

Workers will remain in the field working to safely restore service as quickly as possible.

Power was reported out for customers in the following towns: Allagash, Caribou, Connor Township, Cross Lake Township, Cyr Plantation, Eagle Lake, Fort Fairfield, Fort Kent, Frenchville, Grand Isle, Madawaska, Madawaska Township, New Canada, New Sweden, Perham, St. Agatha, St. Francis, St. John Plantation, Sinclair Township, Stockholm, T15 R6 WELS, T16 R5 WELS, T16 R6 WELS, T17 R3 WELS, Van Buren, Wallagrass, Westmanland, Winterville Plantation, and Woodland.

Although the cause of the outage has not been determined, Versant Power officials estimate power should be restored between 6:30 and 7 p.m. in most locations.
