Maine CDC reports increase of 28 cases, total recoveries top 5,000

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported an increase of 28 coronavirus cases on Tuesday and no new deaths.

The number of Mainers with COVID-19 who have died remains at 143.


The 28 additional cases bring the total in Maine since the outbreak began to 5,780.

The Maine CDC said 5,006 people have recovered from the coronavirus, an increase of eight since Monday.

Active cases increased from 611 on Monday to 631 on Tuesday.

Aroostook County has 53 cases, 4 of which are active.
