SAINTE-ANNE-DE-MADAWASKA, New Brunswick (WAGM) -

A 53-year-old woman has died as the result of a house fire in New Brunswick.

The West District RCMP is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred in Sainte-Anne-De-Madawaska, New Brunswick. Sainte-Anne-De-Madawaska is located northwest of Van Buren, Maine.

On October 20th, at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP responded to a house fire on Rue Mazerolle. A 53-year-old woman who was the sole occupant of the home was transported to the hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. The victim’s name has not been released. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
