PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Let’s Go 5210 program was launched nationally in 2012 as a childhood obesity prevention program.

It’s a multi-setting approach with each number representing healthy life habits. 5 or more fruits or vegetables, 2 or less hours of screen time, one hour or more of physical activity and zero surgery drinks.

Let’s Go Aroostook currently has 29 school nutrition programs, 4 out of school programs, 31 early education programs and 5 school programs that are being recognized for helping to create healthy environments.

“These sites have worked very hard all year long to meet some goals and expectations. It’s a way for us to kind of monitor and assess what the sites are doing and make sure we are providing resources and doing the best work we can do.”

Renne Bragdon, Coordinator for Let’s Go 5210 program

The Let’s Go program is looking to add more sites throughout the states of Maine and New Hampshire.
