Pickup truck caught fire after crash along Interstate 95
Maine State Police report, Tr. Hunter Cotton and Tr. Kyle Rider responded to Interstate 95 southbound, Dyer Brook for a report of a vehicle crash with one vehicle on fire. Tr. Cotton’s investigation determined that Daniel Guarino was southbound in a Chevy pickup, towing a vehicle on a trailer. Police report Guarino was operating too fast for conditions and lost control on the icy roadway, skidding off the Interstate into the woods. The pickup truck caught fire, Guarino was able to get out of the truck before it burned. Guarino was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The roads were icy from a short snowstorm that had passed through the area.
The Interstate was able to be kept open for traffic during the incident.
