Eagle Lake Resident Reflects on Assistance Through ACAP Programs
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - County residents have started preparing for the winter months. One man from Eagle Lake talks about how the Home Energy Assistance Program has helped him to get ready for colder weather.
For County residents like Jim Fecondo, assistance through ACAP will help him and his wife to feel safe and secure this winter.
“I’m 86 years old and it gets to the point where funds come a little short because we only depend on an income of social security. So, it worked out well for us financially as well as it stabilizes our home.”
ACAP has helped to provide Fecondo with what he calls his prized possession.
“My prize thing is my heat pump. They gave us a heat pump this year which is fantastic. It does a great job for us, it’s something we can set up not only for heat, but it also gave us an air conditioning unit. Which does do the job in our little house.”
In addition to the heat pump, Fecondo says he’s received help from ACAP through the Home Energy Assistance Program and many others. For that he says, he’s thankful.
“To us, it takes the worriment out of it… knowing that you have ACAP there to help you with your fuel, your electricity, and other programs that are available… and I truly want to say thank you.”
