Driver not injured after rollover crash in Castle Hill; passenger sustained minor injuries

Maine State Police report, Kaylee Mejia 19 of Portage Lake, Maine was driving her 2013 Toyota Corolla westbound on State Road in Castle Hill. Mejia lost control of her vehicle on the ice-covered road. Mejia went into the ditch on the right side of the roadway, then went down a 20-foot embankment. Mejia’s vehicle rolled over and came to final rest upside down in Demerchant Brook. The driver’s body was submerged in the water. Mejia and her 18 year old passenger were able to get out of the submerged vehicle. Mejia was not injured in the crash and her passenger sustained minor injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. Speed and poor road conditions were a factor in the crash. Mejia and her passenger were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
