KOA sets up camp in Houlton
Off North St. in Houlton is a getaway for many campground goers, and the new owners are determined to keep it that way. Michelle Barnard went into business with her family to buy the campground, formally known as My Brother’s Place.
MB: “My sister and her husband have a campground in Bucksport and they’d been looking to buy a campground and this winter we were talking to them like ‘oh you know we’d like to run a campground and they were like hey do we have a deal for you’ because they’d been talking to Sally and Art, the previous owners and they were looking to sell and they were looking to buy, so we kind of went in on a deal with them and here we are.”
Barnard says, plans are being made for better WIFI, new luxury campsites and hopefully soon an in-ground pool.
