More than 700 COVID-19 cases reported in the state for the second day in a row

Augusta, Maine (WAGM) - An additional death is being reported in Aroostook County Thursday. The death was a woman in her 90s. That brings the total number of deaths in the County since the pandemic began to 4. An additional 18 cases are being reported Thursday as well. There are currently 322 active cases.
Meanwhile 735 new cases are being reported statewide. There were also 6 additional deaths including the County death reported. Those deaths include three women in their eighties from Oxford County, one man in his seventies from Penobscot County and one woman in her eighties from York County. 39 people have recovered, leaving 9831 active cases state wide.
The next COVID-19 briefing will be Monday, December 28th at 2 PM. State offices are closed through Sunday, December 27th. The Maine CDC says some information typically provided on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays may not be available.
